Worked 8 hours in the 104°F heat over a 2500°F fire.
Pounded out another blade and tried to make a spoon…which we melted…just as it was starting to look good. Annealed six more spikes for tomorrow.
We used a table grinder to remove slag and bumps and then hand filed the blades to a nice smooth finish. Tempering and sharpening are next.
This is hard work…and we love it. It’s a bit cliché but we think we were born in the wrong era.
